Boy playing on obstacle course

Keep them happy or tire them out with an adventure packed day.

Need to find a place for the kids to burn off all that excess energy? Well, at Peebles Hydro there’s plenty to do for children of all ages (and grown-ups as well!).

Kids club

Our kids club offers childcare for children aged 2 – 12 years old. Sessions run from 9am – 11am and 7pm – 9pm seven days per week. For just £1.50 per child, per session, little ones can enjoy some time away from mum and dad, and lots and lots of adventurous fun. From arts and crafts, to treasure hunts and competitions, there’s something new to discover every day. Just pop along to Reception to find out what’s on during your stay, and to book a place.

Peebles Spy Trail

A self-guided treasure trail through the historic market town, the Peebles Spy Trail enlists the whole family to gather the clues and crack the code. It’s roughly two miles long, and takes around two hours to complete; unless you have a junior Sherlock in your midst!

Find out more on the Treasure Trails website.

Outdoor hotel activities

There’s tennis, croquet and a mini-pitch ‘n’ putt all within the hotel grounds. Just ask Jenny and her team at the hotel reception if you want to use the courts.

Butterfly World

Edinburgh’s Butterfly World is the oldest butterfly house in the world, with hundreds of free-flying species in the indoor tropical rainforest. It makes a great day out, with daily animal handling sessions, including snakes and spiders – in case any of the younger ones are brave enough.

New Lanark Visitor Centre

A cotton mill village founded in the 18th century, New Lanark is a UNESCO world heritage site with an award-winning visitor centre. See how the mill worked, and how the owner revolutionised working conditions – including reforms in education and hygiene. There’s an immersive Annie MacLeod Experience to give you an idea of what life was like for an eight year old girl at the mill, as well as a roof garden, riverside walk, café and an excellent gift shop.
